THE COSTA CALIDA / MURCIA REGION

The Costa Calida is situated south of Alicante and Torrevieja o­n the Costa Blanca and north of province of Almeria. The regional temperatures can be higher than any other o­n Spain's Mediterranean coast. The Mar Menor is renowned for its healing effects from salts that it contains.

One of the area´s main atractions is the variety of golfline resorts thoughout the Murcia region with good travel links, local airport and motorways providing easy access to all golf courses. The Murcia province is steeped with history and tradition with many fiestas throughout the year.

Murcia Capital - The capital city of the region is o­nly 40 minutes from Los Alcazares and well worth a visit. You can choose to visit the modern shopping centres or if you prefer take in the history or just enjoy the local bars and restaurants and tapas.

Cartagena - The old naval city of Cartagena is another place of interest with stunning architecture, Roman theatre and castle which can be seen whilst taking the tour bus with English commentary outline the history of the city. You can also take a ferry around the harbour and out into the Mediterranean.

The Mar Menor is an ideal location for all water sports, wind surfing, sailing, swimming. Jet skis are available for hire. Fishing is popular from the beach and boats, fishing trips by boat can be arranged. For land lovers there are nature walks, horse riding, go-karting, quad adventures and bike rides. There are over 10 golf courses within a 10 mile radius and plenty of facilities for golfing parties. Ferry trips and private hire boats are available for visits to the islands of the Mar Menor and La Manga.
