A building of Renaissance style, prototype of a Santiaguista temple in the kingdom of Murcia.
The first documented news of this church dates back to 1467, when inside the church, Juan Bellón, mayor of the fortress of Cehegin, yielded oath of fidelity to Juan Pacheco, teacher of the order of Santiago.
In its interior it emphasises a variety of works from Roque Lopez, popularly known as the virgin of the anguishes.
