Lorca is the largest town in Spain by area, stretching across an entire valley and with a municipal township that reaches the coast with a population that was last counted at 77,477 in the year 2001. The Grand Feria of Lorca takes place sometime during the month of September, lasting 10 days and the Easter parades are considered to be the best in Spain.
The town blends its historical heritage with modern life. Lorca is also an important commercial centre and to this end has a well designed network of roads, railway and communications.
All connected with a coach station, a railway station and the main N-340 (A-7/E-15) motorway, making this area easily accessible and also relatively central to a wide selection of some of the most beautiful countryside in the south east of Spain including the Sierra Espuña, the Sierra Los Vélez and the Levante Almeriense.
