Situated in the El Hornillo bay (2km east
of the town center) you,ll find an iron pier that was built by the British
South Eastern Railway Company at the end of the 19^thC. This
construction was used to load ships with iron ore and commenced operation in
1903. The pier itself is no longer in use but has recently been made an
official Historical Site.
