The Cathedral of Santa Maria with its famous gothic architecture was finished in the 15th century and has various entrance doors, all of which are a treasure in themselves.
The main entrance, called puerta del perdon, the north door, portada de las cadenas and the portada de los apostoles all lead you into the impressive capilla mayor, which is lavishly decorated with gold.
The most important temple of the region is a magnificent mixture of styles, a catalogue in stone that summarizes more than 600 years of history and art. It began to be built in 1394 on an old mosque and in 1462 was finally completed.
Of the 15thcentury, the Chapel of The Vélez covered with a frame in the form of a star of ten tips and with abundant decoration.
The tower, with 92 m of height and divided into five bodies, began to be built in 1521 and houses in its fifth body, twenty-five bells.
