a total of 18 new country houses on plots of 20,000m. these plots are just 6km from the town of la parroquía, nestled in the foothills of the mountain ranges between vélez rubio and lorca.
the plots include a section of the pine woods that run on the edges of the valley where they are situated.

within the municipal township of lorca, taking the mu701 to vÈlez rubio, a section of one of the first roads to be built in spain by the romans, running from cartagena to linares.
it has recently been renovated by being widened, resurfaced and straightened as much as possible by the construction of new bridges from lorca to la parroquÌa, a quaint, picturesque town nestled on a meadow within the mountain range on the edge of the marÌa de los vÈlez natural park.
the town council of lorca are renovating the natural spring baths known as la fuensanta situated on the outskirts of la parroquÌa on the c-22 heading towards vÈlez rubio. the aim is to build a rural hotel and facilities, renovating the old buildings that stand on the site of the baths.
between finca la parroquÌa and vÈlez rubio there is a ruin of an old castle, later used as fort. this is also a current point of discussion at local council meetings as the debate still runs on whether it should be restored to its original state or left in peace.
now being a pleasure to drive to and from la parroquÌa, it has without a doubt got the potential to become a favourite for people looking for a country property within beautiful surroundings and a very spanish atmosphere.
next on the agenda is the resurfacing of the c-22 and so connect la parroquÌa with vÈlez rubio with a much more comfortable drive than it is at the moment. work has already started on the widening.

the costa almeria is serviced by three international airports alicante being the most popular with daily flights. murcia (san javier), south of alicante and almeria used by a smaller number of british operators. easy jet and other budget carriers introduced scheduled flights to almeria during autumn 2004.
with the introduction of a brand new airport at corvera (murcia) , scheduled to open end of 2006, costa almeria will be even more accessible by air.
in addition, it can be reached by rail (from london via paris and barcelona, with the option to go by eurostar part of the way) or road a very picturesque and pleasant journey. the a-7 motorway, far less cluttered than roads in the uk, runs all the way from the french border down the coast. signs are easy to follow, leaving you to concentrate only on which side of the road you are travelling! the coastal road will add time to your journey but makes for some spectacular scenery along the way.
